Emily Rose
MANDELL
SOPRANO SINGER & SONGWRITER
Bio
"An opera begins long before the curtain goes up and ends long after it has come down." – Maria Callas
Emily Rose Mandell is a genre-defying artist whose music inhabits the space between opera and pop, tradition and reinvention. Trained in classical voice at Oberlin Conservatory, she brings the grandeur of the concert hall to the intimacy of modern songwriting.
Her sound blends the power and technique of operatic vocals with the accessibility and emotional immediacy of contemporary pop — a fusion she uses to breathe new life into old forms and introduce classical beauty to a new generation. Whether performing solo in a quiet bar or fronting an orchestra in concert hall, Emily’s performances are marked by emotional honesty and an exquisite attention to craft.
Her musical journey has taken her to the London International Choral Festival, the Tanglewood Festival with the Boston Pops, and Carnegie Hall with the Oberlin College Choir. Recently, one of her original compositions was placed on the Official Ballot for the 67th Grammy Awards — a testament to the growing recognition of her singular voice.
A Florida native shaped by formative years in the acclaimed high school chorus Dimensional Harmony, Emily’s influences include acclaimed opera singers from the past century, modern pop divas, and those who strive to blend the music of the past with that of the present. Today, she channels these voices into original music that is pensive, introspective, and luminously hopeful.
Emily is currently recording her debut album — a project for the quiet-hearted, the deep-feeling, and those who seek a sound that lingers long after the final note. For listeners who find strength in sensitivity, and beauty in contradiction, Emily Rose Mandell offers a rare kind of resonance.
